...new website coming in December!
We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner today at my grandmother's house (an hour's drive) and the leaves in her neighborhood are still full of brilliant color. The yard was chock-full of bright yellow maple leaves. Aaron had an absolute blast playing with them! Of course, there was no way I was going to miss out on grabbing my camera to document his fun!
Lately, I've had an extreme urge to play with textures on my photos. Sooo...this evening, I spent a solid three hours doing just that! It's definitely something different for me, but it's fun and...ahem...slightly addicting. It's especially interesting when adding various vintage actions into the mix. I can't wait to play some more!
Oh, how clean my house would be if it weren't for Photoshop.....
Whew!!! I just finished up quite a run of photo sessions over the past couple of months! A big thank you to all of my wonderful clients this past year! Without you, I couldn't have made my dream of starting my own business a reality!
Although success is certainly a good thing, I'm also finding there's a not-so-good element to it...a little thing called "burn out." Running my photo biz along with a demanding full-time day job and fulfilling the needs of my family has been tough. Really tough! But it's certainly good to look back and say "I did it!"
With all of the above being said, I've decided not to schedule any additional photo sessions for the remainder of 2007. Along with needing some time to focus on my family over holidays, I also need to take a step back and revamp some of the ways I've been running the photo biz. Although I've had quite a bit of success, it's also been a learning experience. I'm now aware of many things I'm doing wrong and what I need to do to change those things. I've also discovered there are things I need to stop doing altogether, as well as new things I need to start doing. My intent is to get these issues taken care of over the remainder of 2007 so I can come back ready to serve you better in the new year!
Thank you so much for your understanding, and I hope to be photographing you in 2008!!!
Every year the boys look forward to Mountain Creek Campground's costume parade and trick-or-treat. It's always a lot of fun to trick-or-treat from campsite to campsite meeting lots of people (and monsters and ghouls) and each campsite is always well-decorated! This year I had Boba Fett and a Red Power Ranger on my hands...
Cousin Logan:
Yep, that's Freddy down there at the end:
This costume was quite unique!
We also had our neighborhood trick-or-treat last night, but I decided to leave my camera at home and just enjoy the evening pounding the pavement with the boys (or rather just trying to keep up with them)!
